Historical Event on 8/9/1965

Pakistan chose to persist while the Indian Army Corps on the ceasefire line got down to neutralizing the Gibraltar Force. As a first step, main infiltration routes were blocked and Pakistan was forced out of the Haji Fir bulge (known to them as Bedori).

9/6/1965Full scale warfare broke out all along the international border between West Pakistan and India. Pakistani troops advanced towards the Indian town of Akhnur in Kashmir and Pakistani paratroopers raided Punjab.

6/20/1997Second round of Foreign Secretary-level talks between India and Pakistan starts in Islamabad.
2/24/1988Prithvi, India's first Indigenously designed surface-to-surface tactical missile of 250km, was successfully test fired from Sriharikota. India becomes the fifth country to develop such a missile.
