12/1/1998Dhian Singh (103), freedom fighter dies at Palampur, Himachal Pradesh. He was a member of the Indian National Army and was jailed a number of times during the freedom movement.
2/1/194217 Indian Division's were withdrawn over vast stretches and the British evacuation in Burma was the longest in British military history.
