Chandigarh, Jan 15 (IANS) Leaders of the Congress in Haryana, including Leader of the Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda, were taken in preventive custody here on Friday ahead of their march towards the Raj Bhawan in protest against the new farm laws.
The police stopped the protestors, including state party chief Kumari Selja, just outside their office in Sector 9.
"The farmers are sitting in the open in the cold and the Central government is deliberately delaying reaching a conclusion with them," Hooda told the media.
He said he has urged the Governor to call a special session of the Vidhan Sabha to discuss the issues concerning the farmers.
"I have not got any reply. This BJP-JJP government has lost confidence and people want to know the stand of their elected representatives on the issue of farmers," he added.
